caribou country

packing caribou after a long happy dayQuebec caribou country...

a land little changed from hundreds, even thousands of years ago. A land of countless rivers, lakes, and wild terrain. This wilderness stretches out before you, unbroken.  Caribou trails, etched deep into the earth, meander past distant horizons. At night, a sky full of stars share the night stage with the aurora borealis, transfixing you with its wonder. You have stepped back in time. You are in caribou country!

Over this immense wilderness, lives and travels the majestic Quebec-Labrador caribou. A bull caribou with its white mane and large, beautiful antlers is a stunning sight whether in amongst the spruce and larch trees of the semi-taiga or migrating out across the open tundra. Sporting a rack which is the largest proportionately to its caribou migrationbody size of all the deer family members, a caribou bull can certainly cause one's heart beat to quicken.

To experience the far north and the adventure of a caribou hunt is a privelage. Its allure is often addicting. If you have not yet experienced the call of the Quebec wild, you owe it to yourself to do so. northern lights and spruce trees photo by Andre LaClaire
